Public Governor (Rest of Greater Manchester)
Public Governor for Rest of Greater Manchester
Term of Office: 3 Years – Ending at 2020 Annual/Special Members’ Meeting
I have previously had many years experience as a former Governor, and enjoyed participating in the processes that led to the creation of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. During my previous time as a Governor, I was involved in membership and engagement, plus patient experience. I also joined colleagues in carrying out patient-led ward assessments and where appropriate, forwarded improvement ideas and suggestions.
My working life was as a firefighter where I served throughout the Greater Manchester area.
Following heart surgery in 2002, I became a Volunteer at Wythenshawe Hospital, and through the ‘Ticker Club’, provide support to cardiac patients and their families with this club recently receiving ‘The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Services’ in 2016.
I feel confident that our new Trust provides the opportunity to continually make improvements in patient care, and relish the opportunity to represent patient views and interests.
