David joined the NHS in 2005. Prior to joining Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, he worked at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust and Royal Bolton Hospital in a number of operational roles.

Since joining Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust in 2013, he has held roles as Director of Service Redesign, Group Director of Estates and Facilities and Group Director of Operations

He was appointed to the role of Group Chief Operating Officer in October 2022

David is a Chartered Engineer and has spent time working in a variety of industries prior to joining the NHS.
