Public Governor (Manchester)
Public Governor for Manchester Constituency
Term of Office: 3 Years – Ending at 2020 Annual/Special Members’ Meeting
Passionate about the NHS, I want our local hospitals to continue to provide the safest, highest quality and specialist care for local people. As a Chief Executive of a charity working to improve quality of life for older people, I am particularly focused on ensuring that elderly, frail and more vulnerable patients are always treated with dignity, respect and compassion.
I want to use my skills, developed over 25 years as a senior manager in both the public and voluntary sectors, and my experience as a patient in Manchester hospitals, to seek assurances on behalf of members from the Trust’s Board of Directors to ensure that decisions do not compromise safety or quality and are always in the interests of patients.
Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust’s staff do a fantastic job and I want to support and value them and see that we invest in their skills and talents. I previously served as a Governor for several years, and feel privileged to represent the interests of members in South Manchester, my home for nearly 40 years.
