Chief Executive Officer
I am delighted to share with you how I got to be in my current post.
I have been employed by this Trust (in its various guises) since 1978, which shows what fantastic opportunities are available to everyone. The only part of my career which was planned was to undertake Registered General Nurse training in 1978 and then Registered Midwifery training in 1982. The rest of my career moves were through a mixture of hard work, additional study and making the most of each and every opportunity on offer. I have worked in all areas of maternity developing skills in providing care to normal low risk women and the ability to care for women with complex needs both medical and social.
My leadership skills have been developed over numerous roles including co-ordinating the delivery unit for 10 years, as a Ward Manager, a Service Development and Safeguarding Midwife, Head of Midwifery and Nursing and more latterly as the Divisional Director for Saint Mary’s Hospital.
I have seen all of our services expand greatly, both in the number of patients who we provide care for but also in the level of complexity and expertise. Now I am extremely proud to be able to lead the next stage in the development of services for women, neonates and families across Saint Mary’s, Trafford, Withington and Wythenshawe Hospitals and, where applicable, across the wider footprint of the North West.
