{"id":284,"date":"2021-02-08T06:38:06","date_gmt":"2021-02-08T06:38:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mft.nhs.uk\/transforming-the-future-at-north-manchester-general-hospital\/?p=284"},"modified":"2021-02-10T10:29:16","modified_gmt":"2021-02-10T10:29:16","slug":"nmgh-exciting-apprenticeship-opportunities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mft.nhs.uk\/transforming-the-future-at-north-manchester-general-hospital\/2021\/02\/08\/nmgh-exciting-apprenticeship-opportunities\/","title":{"rendered":"New hospital programme delivers exciting apprenticeship opportunities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Five hard-working apprentices are gaining both practical skills and academic qualifications through their employers\u2019 involvement in the redevelopment of North Manchester General Hospital (NMGH).<\/p>\n<p>To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week (8-14 February), the NMGH project team is showcasing the contribution of apprentices Rob Childs, Jack Dash, Tom Marner, Beth McCrystal and James Robinson.<\/p>\n<p>Rob is an apprentice project manager with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rlb.com\">RLB<\/a> and is studying Construction Management through a degree apprenticeship.\u00a0 His training includes developing feasibility studies, estates strategies and business cases.<\/p>\n<p>Part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arup.com\/careers\/early-careers\/apprenticeships\">Arup<\/a> team, Jack\u2019s apprenticeship is in Building Services and Sustainable Engineering.\u00a0 He has been working on the space requirements for plant equipment, water utility services and mechanical, electrical and plumbing services design for buildings at NMGH.<\/p>\n<p>Also an apprentice at Arup, Tom is studying Building Services Engineering for his apprenticeship.\u00a0 He quickly progressed from assisting other technicians to co-ordinating the replacement ventilation system for the existing acute hospital buildings.<\/p>\n<p>Beth is doing a degree apprenticeship in Quantity Surveying and is assistant costs consultant with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arcadis.com\/en\/united-kingdom\/careers\/early-years-careers\/apprentices\/\">Arcadis<\/a> on the NMGH project.\u00a0 She has provided costs for the enabling works and security projects at the early design stages, and assisted in tender review processes.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant electrical engineer James has recently completed his advance level apprenticeship with his employer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sisealy.co.uk\/\">S I Sealy<\/a> and is now studying for his HNC in Building Services Engineering.
