Bury South MP Christian Wakeford visited North Manchester General Hospital to hear about plans for a new Outpatient Centre and Main Hospital with 100% single inpatient rooms.<\/p>\n
The visit provided an opportunity to discuss the New Hospital Project and what the investment will mean for patients, staff and communities across North Manchester, Bury and the wider area.<\/p>\n
The redevelopment is part of the Government\u2019s national New Hospital Programme, with \u00a31.5 billion of investment to replace ageing buildings with modern healthcare facilities. Current plans include a new Outpatient Centre and Main Hospital.<\/p>\n
Plans will support the transformation of care while bringing wider benefits through jobs, apprenticeships, training and skills opportunities for local people. The new facilities are also being planned to provide modern, accessible environments supported by digital technology.<\/p>\n
Work starts on the Outpatient Centre next year with the new Main Hospital set to be complete by 2035. Services will continue as normal throughout the build.<\/p>\n
