    Admission date<\/h2>\n

    If you are coming in to hospital as an inpatient you will have received a letter from us with your admission date (the date that we expect you to come into hospital).This letter contains all the information you need to prepare for your visit including details of where you need to go. Please read this and follow any instructions carefully. If you have any queries then please call the number in your letter.<\/p>\n

    Changing your admission date<\/h3>\n

    If you need to change your admission date please let us know as soon as possible. We will try and rearrange a more convenient time with you.<\/p>\n

    Rescheduled admission<\/h3>\n

    Occasionally we may need to reschedule your planned admission in order to deliver emergency care. We try very hard to avoid this but in the event that this happens we will contact you at the earliest opportunity. Please check your admission letter for any instructions regarding checking that a bed is available for you.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_id=”requirements”][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

    Special requirements<\/h2>\n

    If you have any special requirements that you think we need to know about such as mobility, disability or dietary needs or then please let us know as soon as possible. If you require an Interpreter please let us know and we will arrange it for you.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_id=”smoking”][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

    Smoking Policy<\/h2>\n

    The hospital operates a non-smoking policy and you are unable to smoke anywhere on the trust site. If you need advice on giving up smoking, your GP and local pharmacy can help. We also have a smoking cessation team that can be contacted by calling\u00a00161 291 5030<\/strong>.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_id=”unwell”][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

    If you feel unwell<\/h2>\n

    If you develop a cough, cold or stomach upset, or are exposed to an infection such as chicken pox, please call the admissions number on your letter as soon as possible so we can discuss this with you.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_id=”relatives”][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

    Relatives and Carers<\/h2>\n

    If you have any help or care at home, have a key worker or social worker, please remember to tell them about your hospital visit. We can work with them to ensure that your discharge home is as smooth as possible. Don\u2019t forget to tell friends and relatives that you are coming into hospital and give then details of your ward so they can keep in touch. We can only give information to family members so it helps if one member of your family is able to keep others updated.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_id=”bring”][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

    What to bring<\/h2>\n

    Storage space in limited on the wards so please pack carefully. You will need to bring the following items:[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]

    • Your admission letter<\/li>\n \t\t\t
    • Any medications and inhalers and mobility devices<\/li>\n \t\t\t
    • Contact information for your next of kin and any care agencies who support you at home<\/li>\n \t\t\t
    • The name and address of your GP<\/li>\n \t\t\t
    • Items for washing, toiletries, tissues, and towel<\/li>\n \t\t\t
    • Dressing gown, night clothes and slippers<\/li>\n \t\t\t
    • Comfortable clothing for days you are not in bed and to go home in<\/li>\n \t\t\t
    • Money to use in the hospital shop and hospedia services such as television and telephones<\/li>\n \t<\/ul>\n\t

        Health Passports<\/h3>\n

        Please bring with you any health passports including those for patients with learning disabilities or dementia as this will help us give you the best possible care.<\/p>\n

        Valuables<\/h3>\n
