Andy Richards joined the HCC during its foundational years and has seen its role expand across the North. He has played a steady hand in building the network’s presence, turning it into a recognisable and trusted organisation for those living with haemoglobinopathies and the clinical teams and organisations that support them.

Beyond his operational coordination of the regional network, Andy leads the HCC’s strategic communications. He is responsible for developing and implementing multi-channel internal and external engagement plans, having designed the organisation’s visual identity and digital infrastructure from scratch.

Andy serves as a vital link between clinical leadership, regional hospitals, charities and external partners. By bridging these diverse groups with the community, he ensures that patient insights directly shape a responsive regional presence that puts the needs of the community at the heart of everything we do.
