“Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust was awarded the status of Haemoglobinopathy Coordinating Centre (HCC) for Sickle Cell in the North West of England and Thalassaemia and Rare Inherited Anaemia (RIA) in the North of England. The aim of the HCC is to reduce morbidity and mortality levels, ensuring patients within the North of England receive equal, joint up care at a high standard.”
