Dr Emma Astwood

Consultant Haematologist

Dr Emma Astwood is a Consultant Paediatric Haematologist at Sheffield Children’s Hospital and the Clinical Lead for Paediatrics at the North East and Yorkshire Haemoglobinopathy Coordinating Centre (HCC). She provides specialist care for children with complex blood disorders across South Yorkshire and the Humber region.

Dr Astwood holds several senior leadership positions within Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, serving as the Lead for Transfusion Medicine and the Clinical Lead for the Haematology Laboratory. Nationally, she is a member of the National Haemoglobinopathy Panel, where she contributes to the strategic development of care for children with rare anaemias (RIAs) and sickle cell across the UK.
