Dr Sharif graduated from The University of Liverpool in 2009. He completed haematology specialist training in Manchester including a clinical fellow post in haemoglobinopathy at Manchester University NHS Foundation trust
He is the lead for sickle cell disease at Manchester Royal Infirmary.
He is a member of the National Haemoglobinopathy Panel clinical MDT and a member of the national working group for acute pain management in sickle cell disease.
He is principal investigator for a number of phase I-III clinical trials currently in setup and he is the haematology representative for the sub-regional immunoglobulin panel.
He is a member of the working expert group and steering group for SHOT (Serious Hazards of Transfusion) as the haemoglobinopathy representative.
