Dr Mike Richards is a Consultant Paediatric Haematologist and the Associate Medical Director for Children’s Services at The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. With over 25 years of experience at the Trust, including a former tenure as Clinical Director of Leeds Children’s Hospital, he remains a key figure in clinical strategy and the advocacy of children’s health interests.

Dr. Richards specialises in the care of children and young adults with non-malignant haematological disorders. He leads the regional paediatric service for haemoglobinopathies (Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia) and holds a specialist interest in bleeding disorders and abnormal thrombosis. Committed to improving the quality of life for his patients, he combines expert diagnosis with a compassionate, family-centred approach to the long-term management of complex blood conditions.
