Dr Sabiha Kausar is a Consultant Paediatric Haematologist at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and serves as the Deputy Clinical Lead for Thalassaemia and Rare Inherited Anaemias (RIA) within the North West Haemoglobinopathy Coordinating Centre. Her work focuses on delivering high‑quality, specialist care for children and young people living with haemoglobinopathies, including thalassaemia, sickle cell, and other inherited anaemias.
As part of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust’s regional haemoglobinopathy service, Dr Kausar plays a key role in coordinating multidisciplinary care, supporting service development, and contributing to the advancement of clinical pathways for complex blood disorders. Her clinical practice is grounded in evidence‑based medicine, compassionate patient‑centred care, and a commitment to improving long‑term outcomes for children with rare haematological conditions.
Dr Kausar works closely with colleagues across the North West to strengthen regional networks, enhance access to specialist expertise, and support families navigating lifelong conditions.
