Upon qualifying as a nurse in 2021, Joe commenced his professional career at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, initially in the area of infectious and tropical diseases. He subsequently served as Deputy Ward Manager for a ward specialising in general medicine, palliative care, and haematology, where he developed an interest in sickle cell disease. This led to his current specialist role within the Haemoglobinopathies team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
