Kiran Nazir

Health Psychologist

Bradford Teaching Hospital

Kiran Nazir is an HCPC-registered Health Psychologist and BABCP-accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT). She joined the Haemoglobinopathy team in early 2023, bringing extensive experience in supporting individuals with long-term health conditions.

Kiran works primarily with adults diagnosed with Sickle Cell and Thalassemia. She works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide an integrated approach to care, ensuring that the psychological impact of living with a red cell disorder is addressed alongside physical treatment.

Kiran has a specialist interest in using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Her approach is non-judgemental and empathic, offering patients a supportive space to feel understood. Patients under the care of the HCC will typically meet Kiran during their annual reviews to discuss their emotional well-being. She also accepts referrals for more focused psychological support through the clinical team, including consultants and Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS).
