Biography
Mr Tim de Klerk is the Clinical Lead for Cataract Services at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital and the clinician in charge of the Hospital’s dedicated cataract surgery unit at it’s satellite site, located at Withington Community Hospital. He finished his medical degree in 2001 and began his basic specialist training in ophthalmology at the Sunderland Eye Infirmary in 2005. He moved to the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital in 2009 for his higher specialist training. In the final years of his specialisation, he did advanced specialist training in cornea, ocular surface and refractive surgery at the Eye Hospital. He has a number of peer reviewed scientific publications and has presented his research work internationally at meetings in both the United States and Australia.
