We strongly recommend using active travel or public transport to get to Wythenshawe Hospital. The roads are often busy, and parking is often oversubscribed. Wythenshawe Hospital is served by many bus routes and other community and sustainable transport options.

Wythenshawe Hospital is located in a suburban area with many parks nearby, so you may find it enjoyable to cycle to the hospital. We have cycle racks to lock your bike up across the hospital site. Please note, all users leave their bikes at their own risk and the Trust is not liable for stolen or damaged bikes.

Bus
Wythenshawe Hospital is well served by buses, and six regular services stop at the Hospital lay-by.

Train
Our nearest railway stations are Manchester Airport, Navigation Road and Altrincham. These are a short cycle or bus ride from Wythenshawe Hospital.

Tram
Wythenshawe Hospital is close to the Metrolink ‘blue’ line, and the nearest tram stop is Roundthorn, which is a five-minute walk from the centre of the Hospital.

Specialist Requirements
If you have any accessibility enquiries or special requirements such as help with visual impairment, hearing, language, or communication matters, please ask a member of staff for assistance or contact the Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS). The PALS team can provide information about NHS services and other sources of help such as Citizen’s Advice Bureau and support you through an anxious time. They also give a voice to patients’ issues, help to identify gaps in services and report to the Trust Board.

Travel vouchers
Travel vouchers are for people who are not able to use ordinary buses, trains or Metrolink and have serious walking difficulties or are registered blind. They can be used to pay for taxis and for travel on accessible bus services such as Ring and Ride and Community transport.
