Biography

Miss Reshma Thampy graduated from the University of Glasgow and undertook her postgraduate ophthalmology training in Manchester.

Miss Thampy has extensive clinical training and experience in Comprehensive Ophthalmology and undertook advanced subspecialty training in Oculoplastic Surgery, and Emergency Ophthalmology.

Miss Thampy has been Lead Consultant for Adult General Ophthalmology at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital for over 10 years and was a founding member of the British Emergency Eye Care Society.

She is committed to training the next generation of doctors ,and is active in teaching medical students and postgraduate ophthalmologists and has served as Associate Hospital Dean for Ophthalmology at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital and is a current Council Member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.

Her other academic achievements include:

• FRCOphth: Royal College of Ophthalmologists , UK
• MSc Investigative Ophthalmology in Vision Science from Manchester University
• Masters in Healthcare Leadership from Manchester Business School
• Scholarship at NICE ( National Institute of Clinical Excellence)
