Biography
Trained at Cambridge University (MB BChir 1993) followed by Medical training in London, Specialist Renal training in the Middlesex and Royal Free Hospitals. Undertook basic science research (PhD) in cell biology of kidney development and polycystic kidney diseases in UCL (2004), leading to an interest in inherited renal diseases and the care of young people with long term kidney conditions. Established a successful Renal Genetic Clinic in Manchester providing multidisciplinary diagnostic service to the region for adults with familial renal disease, and also active in the Paediatric Renal Genetic clinic. Lead Adult Clinician for transitional care of adolescents with renal diseases. Member of UK Clinical Specialty groups in polycystic kidney diseases and other rare renal diseases.
