Biography
Dr Amira Stylianides was appointed Consultant Medical Ophthalmologist at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital in 2020 and is the Clinical Lead for the Uveitis service.
She graduated from the University of Manchester in 2003 and completed higher specialist training in the Mersey Deanery, where she worked as a consultant for 7 years leading the Diabetic Retinopathy, Ocular Inflammation and Immunosuppression services. Dr Stylianides was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians in 2019.
Dr Stylianides has been Principal Investigator for several national and international clinical trials. She has published in peer reviewed journals, presented her work at meetings nationally and internationally and currently contributes to national and international uveitis research projects.
Dr Stylianides is a member of the Specialty Advisory Committee for Medical Ophthalmology and is the lead for national recruitment. She sits on the Uveitis Clinical Study Group Advisory Board, in addition to her secretary role on the committee for the Medical Ophthalmology Society UK.
