Physiotherapists work in a variety of health care settings within Trafford General Hospital and Altrincham General Hospital. Physiotherapists work in integrated – or ‘joined up’ – therapy teams working alongside other Allied Health Professionals such as Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists.

- Cardiac Rehabilitation
- Musculo-skeletal out-patients
- Rheumatology
- Hand therapy
Location:
All in-patient services and cardiac rehabilitation are provided at Trafford General Hospital.
Other out-patient services are provided at both Trafford General Hospital and Altrincham General Hospital.
Hours:
Services are mainly between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday, with some out-patient areas offering earlier and later appointments. An out of hours service and weekend service is available for emergency respiratory patients. Orthopaedics has an extended service Monday to Friday until 8pm and a weekend service.

Referrals:
In-Patient Services
Physiotherapists attend multidisciplinary meetings on all wards Monday to Friday. They will either identify patients who require physiotherapy themselves at these meetings or the medical and nursing staff on the ward will make a referral to physiotherapy.
Out-Patient Services
Referrals for cardiac rehabilitation are accepted from a variety of health professionals including cardiologists, cardiac nurses and GPs.
Referrals to other physiotherapy out-patient services are accepted from MFT Consultants.
