Biography

Dr Amrit Chowdhary completed his Cardiology training from the West Yorkshire Deanery and was appointed as a Consultant in cardiac imaging at Wythenshawe hospital in 2024. During his training at the Leeds General infirmary, he gained expertise in Cardiac MRI, Cardiac CT, advanced echocardiography, heart failure and valvular heart disease.

Dr Chowdhary has gained a PhD in Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging from the University of Leeds in 2022. He has won two International Young Investigator Awards at the American Heart Association meeting In Philadelphia, USA in 2023 and also at the Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging meeting in San Diego, USA in 2023. In addition, he has been a finalist for the investigator wards at the British Cardiovascular Society conference 2023, American Heart Association 2021 and British Society for Echocardiography in 2019. He has over 40 peer-reviewed publications in journals of repute.

Along with other colleagues, Dr Chowdhary is an integral part of the Cardiac cross sectional imaging department at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust which is one of the largest in the Country. In addition, Dr Chowdhary is also part of the Structural heart disease team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

When he is not watching his children play cricket, he loves photography and running.
