Biography
When I started as a neonatal consultant at Saint Mary’s Hospital in March 2017 it was my first ever job in Manchester and I’ve never regretted the decision to make the journey across the Peak District from South Yorkshire. Working as a neonatologist means I help look after families during what is often a very difficult time, from seeing them daily on the intensive care unit to the out-patient clinic after discharge. The quality of the neonatal service here enables me to contribute to delivering a high standard of care. I am particularly interested in the medical care of babies who need surgery and we are one of the busiest neonatal surgical units in the country, co-located with paediatric surgical services at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. I also have experience in a range of intensive care environments and a PhD in immunology and bone biology. My aim is to build on the hard work of my predecessors and colleagues to ensure Saint Mary’s Hospital stays at the forefront of neonatal care.
