Biography
Dr Samanta was appointed as a Consultant at MFT since August 2021. She serves as the Trust Perinatal Mortality Lead and Deputy Lead in Obstetric Governance, Saint Mary’s Hospital (MCS). She has been the Trust Obstetric Lead in Maternal and Neonatal Safety Improvement Programme (MatNeoSIP) and the Perinatal Optimisation Group (POG) (2021-2025).
Dr Samanta is a University gold-medallist in MBBS, India. She completed her Masters’ in Surgery (Obstetrics and Gynaecology), and Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine in India. Subsequently, she trained in Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Reproductive Medicine from Saint Mary’s Hospital, Manchester (2016-2021). She completed the RCOG Advanced Training Subspeciality Modules in Advanced Labour Ward Practice, and Subfertility and Reproductive Health. She also obtained the British Fertility Society (BFS) Certification in Assisted Conception, Andrology, Fertility Preservation, Pelvic Ultrasound, Quality Management of a Fertility Service.
Dr Samanta is a BFS-certified Trainer (Assisted Conception). Dr Samanta is a Clinical and Educational Supervisor for the North-West Deanery. She has completed a Post-graduate Certification in Medical Education (Edge Hill University). She is also a member of the Portfolio Pathway Committee (Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, London). She is an ardent academician and has several publications in peer-reviewed journals and review articles in published textbooks in Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Infertility, to her credit.
