My undergraduate training was at the University of London (Royal Free Hospital with postgraduate training in Internal Medicine at The Middlesex Hospital and University College Hospital London (UCH).

I trained in Radiology at UCH London, at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne and in Thoracic Radiology at the University of California at Los Angeles. I have been a consultant cardiothoracic radiologist since 1995 with posts at UCLA, the North Staffordshire Hospital and since 1999, at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester.

I am regional lead radiologist for Interstitial lung disease and support all other thoracic specialities including cancer imaging/screening.  I also spend two days a week in the cardiology imaging department.

I regularly lecture both nationally and internationally and have written many book chapters.
