Biography
Dr Sajjad Mahmood is a Consultant Gastroenterologist with special interest in HPB medicine and advanced endoscopy at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust / Wythenshawe Hospital. He is the Chair for Greater Manchester HPB Endoscopy network, and the founder and director of several leading educational initiatives, including the North West Advanced Endoscopy Meetings (NWAEM), the Manchester Advanced Endoscopy Symposium (MAES – EUS/ERCP), and the MENTOR Course (Manchester Endoscopy Training and Operational Readiness).
He received a British Society of Gastroenterology Award at the 2025 annual conference for establishing an innovative Pancreatic Cyst Surveillance Service.
Dr Mahmood plays a leading role nationally and internationally in advancing endoscopy education, service innovation, and collaboration in HPB endoscopy.
