Biography

Mr Chris Duff is a fully-trained and accredited Plastic Surgeon and holds specialist registration with the GMC for Plastic Surgery.

He gained specialist fellowship training in Hand Surgery at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham, Selly Oak Hospital, Birmingham and the Children’s Hospital, Birmingham in 2006/2007. He was appointed to his Consultant post in Manchester in 2007.

Mr Duff qualified from Oxford University in 1993 and trained in general surgical skills and plastic surgery in the South West and West Midlands of England. After a period of research in Skin Lasers in Bristol, he started his specialist training in Plastic Surgery in Manchester and Sheffield in 2000.

Mr Duff specialises in many aspects of Plastic Surgery and predominantly focuses on hand and peripheral nerve surgery in the NHS. This relates to congenital and acquired conditions of the hand/wrist and peripheral nerves as well as injuries people have received in e.g. accidents. He sits on the NF1 multidisciplinary team with colleagues interested in all aspects of the management of conditions such as NF1 and NF2/schwannomatosis. Mr Duff works with members of the interventional radiology service to advise and sometimes operate on patients with vascular malformations (Manchester AVM MDT).

He has an active training role and has served as the Regional Training Programme Director for Plastic Surgery for the North West Deanery, Chair of the North West Deanery Specialist Training Committee for Plastic Surgery, and is a Tutor for The University of Manchester and BSSH Hand Diploma. He is vice chair of the Specialist Advisory Committee (SAC) for Plastic Surgery.
