Biography
Dr Amira Stylianides was appointed Consultant Medical Ophthalmologist at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital in 2020.
She graduated from the University of Manchester in 2003 and completed higher specialist training in Mersey Deanery, where she worked as a Consultant for 7 years leading the Diabetic Retinopathy and Ocular Inflammation and Immunosuppression services. Dr Stylianides was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians in 2019.
Dr Stylianides has been Principle Investigator for several national and international clinical trials. She has published in peer reviewed journals and presented at many national and international meetings. She is currently involved in national and international uveitis projects.
She is a member of the Specialty Advisory Committee for Medical Ophthalmology and sits on the committee for the Medical Ophthalmology Society and on the Uveitis Clinical Study Group Advisory Board.
