Biography
Dr Amanda Brennan is a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine at the Manchester Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre. She qualified from the University of Nottingham in 1995 and completed her specialist training in London. She completed a PhD at St George’s and the Royal Brompton Hospitals researching Cystic Fibrosis-Related Diabetes.
She was awarded the first Cystic Fibrosis Trust Clinical Fellowship in the UK, which she undertook at the Manchester Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre, and became a consultant in 2009. She has led the development of the Cystic Fibrosis-Related Diabetes Service in Manchester and leads the Post-Lung Transplant CF and Diabetes Service. She has contributed to the development of Cystic Fibrosis Pregnancy care in Manchester and the wider region.
Her research interests include Cystic Fibrosis-Related Diabetes and metabolic complications. She is a co-author of international Cystic Fibrosis-Related Diabetes guidelines and was the local Principal Investigator for the CL4P-CF trial investigating hybrid closed-loop insulin. She has published extensively in this field and speaks nationally and internationally on Cystic Fibrosis-Related Diabetes.
