Biography

Dr. Giorgio Calisti is a Consultant in Infectious Diseases and the Clinical Lead at Wythenshawe Hospital, which is part of the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). He is affiliated with the National Aspergillosis Centre, which specializes in the treatment and research of aspergillosis.

Dr. Calisti has been instrumental in implementing routine HIV and hepatitis C screening programs in emergency departments. He noted the success of these initiatives, stating that they have led to several new diagnoses that might have otherwise been missed, significantly enhancing patient care.
