Biography

Dr Joe Geraghty qualified from Imperial College, London in 2004 and has trained in London, Oxford, Liverpool and Manchester.

He has a broad range of experience in general gastroenterology and pancreas and biliary diseases. He undertook three additional years of training to complete a PhD at the University of Liverpool, on outcomes of the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme. Following completion of training, he gained further experience as a Pancreatobiliary endoscopy fellow at Manchester Royal Infirmary.

He has been awarded an Honourary lectureship at the University of Manchester and the SHIRE award for excellence from the British Society of Gastroenterology, of which he is a member. He performs a variety of procedures including ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound, diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy and colonoscopy and is an active member of the HPB Multidisciplinary Team.

His ongoing research interests are in establishing best practice for advanced endoscopic techniques and supporting access to individualised treatments in Pancreatobiliary cancer, in collaboration with The Christie Hospital.
