Biography

Dr Schofield studied at the Royal Free and University College Medical School in London, returning to the North West in 2007 to complete specialty training in endocrinology and diabetes. Dr Schofield took time out of training to gain experience overseas with the British Army and for research, completing a PhD at the University of Manchester. He was appointed Consultant in 2016.

After 5 years as Clinical Lead for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism he was appointed Associate Medical Director for Transformation and Improvement in 2024 and is now Clinical Group Lead for Population Health. Dr Schofield maintains active research interests and continues to publish in peer-reviewed journals. He has a strong interest in medical education and is Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester.
