Biography
Dr Patel is a dual-accredited Consultant in General Medicine and Rheumatology. He graduated with a degree in Medicine from the University of Leicester in 2013 achieving a distinction for scoring in the top 10% of all students in examinations. He went on to be appointed to an Academic Foundation Programme in West Midlands and returned to my home city of Manchester to pursue Specialty training in General Medicine and Rheumatology in an Academic training post thereafter. He achieved MRCP accreditation in 2016 and obtained a first class Masters of Research Degree from the University of Manchester in 2017 where he undertook research projects within the field of Digital Epidemiology. He completed specialty training in 2022 and was subsequently appointed as a Consultant in General Internal Medicine and Rheumatology at Manchester Royal Infirmary.
He co-lead the North West regional MDT for access to Tocilizumab access in Giant Cell Arteritis. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and is regularly involved in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
