Biography
Dr Huw Ellis is a consultant physician specialising in respiratory medicine with a focus on complex lung infection. He underwent his clinical training in London and Oxford before completing a PhD at Imperial College London, where his research centred on non-tuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) infection.
Dr Ellis is an active member of the British Thoracic Society and is a member of the Special Advisory Group for acute and complex lung infection, contributing to national guidance and advancing clinical practice in this field. He continues to publish widely on topics including bronchiectasis, NTM and Aspergillus-related lung disease. He works across the trust at Wythenshawe, Manchester Royal Infirmary where he works with the Tuberculosis team and the National Aspergillosis Centre.
