Biography
I trained at St Mary’s Hospital Medical School, London and qualified in 1997. I obtained my MSc in Surgical Sciences at UCL, London. I moved to the North West to join the urology rotation in 2003 and enjoyed it so much I stayed here. I became a consultant in 2012.
I work between MRI and Trafford and have helped develop ‘one stop’ clinics and am always looking for ways to improve our services for our patients. I started the Rezum service at MFT and continue to be involved in the development of Lower Urinary Tract pathways, to ensure an individualised management plan for our patients. I also undertake TULA, meaning some superficial bladder cancers can be treated under local anaesthetic, which is more convenient and lower risk for certain patients. I audit my data regularly to ensure outcomes match the National standard.
In order to provide optimal stone management I work closely with my colleagues Professor Grey, Mr Brophy and Mr Foster with a weekly specialist meeting to discuss non straight forward cases. The aim of our stone service is to treat our patients in a holistic manner, with metabolic assessment for recurrent stone forming patients and risk management as per National Stone Management Guidelines.
I also enjoy education and am a question setter and viva examiner for the FRCS (Urol) and often have students or allied health professionals in my clinics.
