Biography
Miss Filofteia Tacea qualified from Bucharest Medical University in 2011 and undertook her Ophthalmic training in Mersey Deanery, Liverpool. After completion of her general Ophthalmic training, she has undertaken two additional sub-speciality fellowships in glaucoma at St Pauls Eye Unit followed by Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. She has presented at prestigious national and international meetings as Royal College of Ophthalmologists, North of England Ophthalmological Society, Association for Research in Vision, and Ophthalmology and the European Society of Cataract and Refractive surgery. Her publications are in well recognised peer-reviewed journals.
She is involved in post-graduate teaching and a member of global education and research society of ophthalmology.
She was appointed Consultant Ophthalmologist at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital in 2022, specialising in glaucoma surgery (penetrating and non-penetrating, glaucoma drainage devices and micro-invasive glaucoma surgery) as well as cataract surgery.
