Biography
David qualified from the University of Sheffield in 2003 before commencing his post-graduate training in paediatric surgery at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. He was first appointed as a consultant surgeon in February 2017. Alongside his clinical practice he has developed a strong interest in research with the aim of improving the quality of care that we provide to children and their families.
David has been awarded personal research fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons and Action Medical Research. He has presented his research internationally and has been published widely particularly in the fields of developmental stem cell biology of the bowel and long-term outcomes in paediatric surgery. He was awarded his doctorate from the University of Liverpool in 2014. He is a member of the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons and also the British Association of Paediatric Endoscopic Surgeons.
