Biography
Mr Simon Freeman is a Consultant Otologist and Skull Base Surgeon at Manchester Royal Infirmary and Salford Royal Hospital in Manchester. He qualified from Manchester University and trained in the North West. He completed advanced fellowships in Otology, Neurotology, Cochlear Implantation and Skull base Surgery, with Professor Gibson in Sydney and then with Professor Ramsden in Manchester before being appointed as a consultant in 2009.
His main areas of expertise and practice are ear diseases, balance problems, cochlear and auditory brainstem implants, skull base surgery, NF2-related schwannomatosis and management of facial palsy. He has coauthored over 100 publications and several book chapters and often presents on his areas of expertise nationally and internationally.
