Biography
Carly was appointed Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at MFT in 2018, sub-specialising in oral cancer rehabilitation. Having completed her undergraduate degree in 2004, she spent several years in general dental practice. She commenced a seven year academic restorative speciality training programme in 2010, during which she completed a Masters degree in fixed and removable prosthodontics and undertook a qualitative PhD entitled ‘Exploring professionalism in undergraduate dental education.’
Following completion of specialty training, Carly completed a 1 year Clinical Fellowship in Maxillofacial Prosthodontics; the only one of its kind in the UK. This was based at the Royal Liverpool and Aintree hospitals and Manchester Royal Infirmary and University Dental Hospital Manchester.
Carly is part of the MFT head and neck cancer MDT. She also supervises Prosthodontic MSc students and their research projects. She is a reviewer for the British Dental Journal and Dental Update and has over twenty publications in peer reviewed journals.
