Biography
Professor Andrew Jones is the Centre Director at the Manchester Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre. Prof Jones chaired the recently published UK Cystic Fibrosis Trust Standards of Care and a Toolkit for CF care for NHS England.
He is a committee member of NHS England Clinical Reference Group for Respiratory Medicine, and a member of the US Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Data Safety Monitoring Board and the Pulmonary/Immunology Assembly of the European Cystic Fibrosis Society. He was a member of the committee that developed the NICE Cystic Fibrosis Clinical Guidelines. He has also served on several other national CF guidelines including CF Trust Infection Control Guidelines and CF Trust Microbiology Standards. Prof Jones has also previously served as a Trustee for the UK CF Trust.
He has an active interest in CF clinical research and has published over 170 papers. He is a regular invited speaker at national and international conferences. Prof Jones is also clinical lead for the bronchiectasis service based at Wythenshawe Hospital, and the pulmonary arteriovenous malformation/ HHT service. He has active roles in medical education, including work for the Royal College of Physicians.
