Biography

I trained at Leicester University and qualified as a doctor in 1998. Following this I have had a varied career with house officer jobs at The Glenfield, Leicester Royal infirmary and Leicester General Hospital. SHO jobs were at Peterborough Hospital, Frimley Park Hospital in Camberley, Surrey. This training was interspersed with deployments to Northern Ireland, Kosovo and Iraq. My training as a Registrar was based initially at the James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, before moving to the North Western Deanery where I have trained at Manchester Royal Infirmary, Stepping Hill Hospital and Wythenshawe Hospital. I started Work as a consultant in Emergency Medicine in June 2010 at Manchester Royal Infirmary. Currently I am part of the team working on the massive transfusion protocols across the region, and am continuing with my research degree on production of a clinical decision rule to help guide people on the need for massive transfusion in major trauma.
