Biography
Dr Asad is a Consultant Paediatrician with an interest in epilepsy, with over 15 years of experience in paediatrics. She trained in Manchester and has broad expertise in general paediatrics, managing conditions such as asthma, recurrent infections, feeding difficulties, abdominal pain, constipation, growth concerns, and headaches.
She assesses and manages children presenting with paroxysmal events, including faints, and transient episodes of altered awareness (“funny turns”), as well as epilepsy. She has a particular interest in drug-resistant epilepsy and epilepsy surgery. She has completed a post-CCT fellowship in complex epilepsy at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, one of the UK’s four designated epilepsy surgery centers. She contributes to specialist clinics at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, seeing children with complex and drug resistant epilepsy. She is also an instructor on the Paediatric Epilepsy Training (PET) courses and CHaT courses (Childhood headache training) delivered by the British Paediatric Neurology Association.
Dr Asad is an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Manchester and a Year 4 placement supervisor. She has a strong commitment to medical education and is actively involved in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students. She is also an International Tutor for MFT, working closely with the Postgraduate Medical Education department to support international medical graduates in education, mentorship, and career development.
