Biography

Dr Mihai joined the NHS in 2013 and initially worked in Wales for seven years, where she successfully adapted to the UK healthcare system and developed a strong foundation in Respiratory Medicine before joining Manchester Foundation Trust as a Consultant.

Dr Mihai has a particular specialist interest in Sleep Medicine. She completed a PhD in Sleep Apnoea in 2010 and has continued to work extensively in this field ever since. After moving to the UK, she further expanded her expertise in sleep-disordered breathing and sleep-related respiratory conditions, developing advanced clinical experience in the investigation and management of these patients.

In addition to Sleep Medicine, Dr Mihai has developed a strong interest in Ventilation Medicine. This interest began during her time working in Wales and has continued to grow further since joining Wythenshawe Hospital. She has been actively involved in the management of patients requiring non-invasive ventilation and complex respiratory support, contributing to multidisciplinary care and service development within this highly specialised area of Respiratory Medicine.
