Biography

Professor Horsley works in the Manchester Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre, and at the University of Manchester. He graduated from Cambridge and Edinburgh Universities, and completed his PhD at Edinburgh on lung physiology in CF. He is the CF research lead for the NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre, and director of the Manchester Clinical Research Facility at Wythenshawe Hospital. He has led a large number of CF trials and studies, as well as trials in other disease areas. He holds national leadership roles in clinical trials and CF research.

Professor Horsley is director of the PULSE-CF Research Innovation Hub. This multicentre collaboration is funded by the CF Trust to investigate the mechanisms underlying lung infection and inflammation in CF, in order to understand how to prevent exacerbations.
