Biography
Cliff Shelton is a consultant anaesthetist at Wythenshawe Hospital and a professor in anaesthesia and perioperative medicine at Lancaster Medical School.
At Wythenshawe Hospital, Cliff works in the maternity department, trauma and emergency theatres, and endoscopy. Alongside his clinical work, he is the clinical lead for environmental sustainability for the Wythenshawe Hospital Department of Anaesthesia.
At Lancaster Medical School, Cliff is the director of simulation and clinical skills for the undergraduate medical programme. His research interests include health inequalities, patient safety, and environmental sustainability in healthcare. He is the strategic lead for sustainability at the NIHR Research Support Service Hub hosted by Lancaster University and Partners.
