Biography

Dr. David Fox is a consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist specialising in the management and treatment of Atrial Fibrillation and other heart rhythm disorders. Each year he performs an impressive volume of catheter ablation procedures and he is one of the UK’s most active doctors in the field.

He was the top medical student at the University of Dundee, having won numerous prizes. He was one of the only 4 students out of 140 that graduated with honours degree in Medicine and the only student of his year to also have a first class honours degree of Medical Sciences in Pharmacology. He worked in some of the major hospitals around Manchester and trained in Cardiology in the North Western Deanery.

During his fellowship at the University of Western Ontario, Canada, he became an expert in cardiac pacing and was trained in the latest ablation techniques especially for atrial fibrillation. He trained under the supervision of Professor George J Klein, a leading name and pioneer in the field of cardiology/electrophysiology. Dr. Fox’s great interest in atrial fibrillation ablation is reflected onto his research work as he has published several very influential papers on the topic.

He was appointed Consultant Cardiologist at the North West Regional Cardiac Centre, University Hospital of South Manchester in 2008, where he is the lead clinician of the open access atrial fibrillation clinic and the rapid access palpitation clinic.
