Biography

Mark graduated from Leicester medical school with a 1st class science degree and an Honours medical degree. He developed a love of cardiology as a junior doctor and obtained his national training number in cardiology in the Northwest Deanery. He loves teaching and has a diploma in medical education. He took time away for clinical training to complete a PhD at the University of Manchester focussing on Cardiac MRI and cardiac devices, culminating in several abstracts and publications. He continued his training in Cardiac Electrophysiology and Devices, gaining his CCT in 2016. Following this, he completed a 2-year Fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology at the Ottawa Heart Institute, the largest cardiac centre in Canada. He was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist at MFT in 2020.

He performs all complex ablations in atrial fibrillation, SVT and VT. He also performs cardiac MRI. He has an interest in sarcoidosis.

In his spare time, he has 3 lively children who keep him very busy with sporting activities. When he gets time, he loves to go to the gym and spinning studio.

He was appointed Clinical director in Jan 2024.
