Biography

Dr Hickman completed Undergraduate training at the University of Sheffield in 2013.

She underwent Specialty Training in Cardiology from 2018 in Yorkshire. During this time she spent a year in a Clinical Fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. She completed Cardiology training in 2024 and went on to further develop her experience in Cardiac Transplant by spending a year as a Senior Clinical Fellow in Transplant at Wythenshawe Hospital.

She has been a Cardiology Consultant at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust since April 2025. She works across both Manchester Royal Infirmary and Wythenshawe Hospital sites to deliver heart failure and cardiac transplant services. Her specialist interests are in patients with advanced heart failure as well as managing patients with cardiac sarcoidosis. She is BSE accredited in Echocardiography.

Outside of work she enjoys travel, reading and going to the theatre.
