Oculoplastic surgery: ptosis (droopy upper lid), ectropion, entropion, eyelid tumours (Mohs’ reconstruction), facial palsy, cosmetic eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), brow lift. Lacrimal surgery: endoscopic DCR for tear duct obstruction & watery eyes. Orbital surgery: thyroid eye disease, orbital tumours, orbital cellulitis. Trauma: Eyelid & lacrimal injuries & orbital fractures. Anophthalmic socket surgery: enucleation, evisceration, orbital implant.
Biography
Mr Saj Ataullah graduated from Charing Cross & Westminster Medical School, London, in 1991. He trained in general ophthalmology in London and Manchester and then specialised in oculoplastic surgery training both internationally and in the UK.
Saj was appointed as a Consultant Oculoplastic, Lacrimal & Orbital Surgeon in 2002 and has a major role in teaching and training of ophthalmic surgeons. He co-runs an internationally renowned fellowship in oculoplastic surgery. He was appointed as the Royal College of Ophthalmologists’ Tutor for Manchester Royal Eye Hospital in 2005 and was in post till 2012.
Mr Ataullah is the clinical lead for oculoplastic surgery and theatres, has been published in international peer-reviewed journals and has made presentations both in the UK and abroad. Saj Ataullah is a fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, a founder member of the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society (BOPSS) and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has been a RCOphth Regional Adviser since 2012 and is a RCOphth representative on Cosmetic Surgery Interspecialty Committee at Royal College of Surgeons (Eng).
