About Oculoplastics Services
The Oculoplastics team at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital provide eye surgery to residents of Greater Manchester. Referrals from across the North of England and North Wales are received as the hospital undertakes a number of highly specialist procedures.
What conditions do we treat?
The team specialises in surgical treatments for the following conditions:
- Eyelid disorders: eyelid malposition (ectropion, entropion & ptosis), eyelid cancer (Mohs reconstruction surgery), eyelid trauma
- Tear duct problems (Lacrimal disorders): congenital or acquired tear duct obstruction, watery eyes, tear duct injuries.
- Orbital disorders: Thyroid Eye Disease, orbital tumours, orbital trauma (orbital fractures)
- Anophthalmic socket work: eye removal (enucleation / evisceration), orbital implants
What treatments do we offer?
The team are able to provide a number of surgical procedures to help patients treat and manage their conditions.
The surgical team will assess each patient and discuss with them the options for surgery based on their condition or injury.
Who will I see?
The team is made up of a number of consultants who are supported by a highly experienced and dedicated team of oculoplastic nurse practitioners and ocular prosthetics specialists.
